Company Profile:
About Us: Mission Tile, Inc.
The Rolando Ramirez Family can truly be called a “Tile Family”. With my father Rolando (President), my mother Esther (Treasurer), my oldest sister, Esther Lara (Vice-President), my older brother, Joe (Vice-President), and myself, Rolando Jr. (Corporate Secretary) all involved with, and owners of, Mission Tile, Inc. It seems like my siblings and I have all gone from teether to tile rather quickly. We must have know all about ceramic tile, way before we could even spell it. But let me regress, and start this little story from the beginning.
Pop got his start as a tile contractor, installing residential ceramic tile, way back in March of 1961 in his home town of Mission Texas. Hence, Mission Tile was born. In the early days, all his jobs required supplying material and labor and actually selling the final finished tub enclosure or living room floor. By the early 1970’s, the business had grown and he moved his base of operations to the neighboring city of Edinburg. At this time he began purchasing more and more domestic ceramic tile products and coordinating crews of tile installers to do the installations. In 1982, he took a big leap. He dissolved his installation operations and began to import ceramic tile products from Spain and Italy. The Spanish and Italian manufacturers were and are world renown for their production of beautiful and durable ceramic tile. He knew that he must get involved with the importation of these products in order to make his business grow.
He took a really big gamble and it paid off. Due to the tremendous increase in the importation of ceramic tile from over seas, all of which would arrive through the Port of Houston, the late 1990’s spawned the birth of a new Mission Tile located in the city of Spring, in the North Houston area. Located at 20100 Holzwarth, between Cypresswood and Loetta off of North I45. This location allowed him to create a distribution center near to the Port and to service customers in the North Houston area as well. Now with two locations and over 1.5 million square feet of ceramic tile, from over 12 manufacturers out of Spain, Italy, Columbia, Argentina, Japan, and the good ol’ US of A. We can proudly offer all our customers from Houston to the Rio Grande Valley a huge variety of premium-grade ceramic tile at low, Low, LOW prices. The turn of the millennium has even more great and surprising things in store for all of us. We strive to continue to do business as we have always done, honest, informative, and friendly, which has and always will bring joy and prosperity to us all.
Once again, Thank You from all of us at Mission Tile, Inc.
